DIY Cabinet Upgrade Part III – DONE!

(Disclaimer:  Subject to future glazing if I decide to go that route.  :))

In Part I, I installed the crown molding.

In Part II, we sanded, primed, and painted the cabinet boxes.

Somewhere in between Part II and Part III, I installed the last piece of decorative trim, and sanded, primed, and painted the doors over a couple of weekends.

And our kitchen has been transformed from this (last July when we moved in):

Whoo to the HOO!  It’s done and it feels so good to have a “brand new” kitchen 🙂

I just get the feeling of CLEAN and BRIGHT and CHEERY and HERB-EY COTTAGE-GARDEN-EY GOODNESS about our new space, and that’s exactly what I was hoping for.

Y’all get what I’m saying?

I know you do!

Edit:  I’ve gotten a lot of questions on this project, so now there’s an FAQ post as well.

  1. What an amazing re-do!!! It is so beautiful!! I especially love the addition of the beadboard…so yummy! I hope you'll join me for my First Pretty Packages Party next week. If you'd like to come party, just stop by my blog and pick up a button!www.blackberryvine.blogspot.comsmiles!

  2. It's so pretty! That's the look I want in my kitchen when we're done. I'm going to try to look thru your blog for your paint color–that green is perfect! Your hard work has paid off. Good for you!

  3. Hi, I was here last week drooling over your kitchen and I'm not sure why I didn't follow you then, but I fixed that now. Love your kitchen and your blog. 🙂

  4. May I ask what green you used on the walls?? I found your blog quite by accident this weekend, and I am right in the middle of a kitchen redo myself. Have half my cabinets painted white, just like yours, and DH and I are having a TERRIBLE time trying to decide on the right shade of green. UGH! We have splotches of about six different shades painted all over, and NONE of them look right. But yours DOES!! Would you share the details on that green, please? Thanks! 🙂
