Our House Feels Bigger!

Our storm door was installed yesterday! 

It used to be that when you opened this door…..

BAM!

You were on the porch and IN YOUR FACE of whoever might be standing at your front door 🙂

But now….. when you open this door……

Angels Sing!  Light Streams In! Beautiful balmy breezes float!  And the porch becomes another room!

This door has the retractable screen, which is SO very cool…. let me show you…

This little ledge is the “handle” where you pull the screen down (push the window down).  The screen unrolls from a very inconspicuous storage area at the top:

And it locks when you want the screen to be “put away”

It also has a neat feature with this little button at the bottom:

Similar to metal rings on older doors, it holds the door open.  You just tap this button with your foot when you want the door to stay open.  A little nudge of the door just past where it’s standing open, and the button resets and the door shuts.

We chose the brushed nickel hardware:

And I’ll take a picture of the outside later on when the glare isn’t so bad 🙂
