I’ve got some things on my mind. Let’s see……
I should buy some more red mulch for our front garden. It’s looking sad right now with rotten leaves, pine needles, and the pathetic, faded mulch from last year partially mixed into the dirt from when we planted bulbs last fall. You’ve seen my flower pictures. You know 🙂
We hired a company to rescue our lawn this year from the crabgrass jungle it became last year. But I’m bummed. Because I don’t think I can use the grass clippings as mulch if they’ve got fertilizer and weed killer on them….. =(
I need to buy some stepping stones for the back garden. I don’t like walking on raw dirt. Makes me think crawlies will “crawly” right over my feet. Also one reason why I wear rain boots in the garden! (Not ALL the time….I’m only a little weird)
We need to get our deck fixed. The skirt boards are not treated wood. Therefore, they are rotten. Big, huge, fuzzy white and grey YUCKINESS. (But we think it’s just the skirt boards and not the supports, that need replacing… fingers crossed that we won’t run into any surprises.) I have perennials on the way and I can’t plant them if they’re just going to be trampled later!
I have a lot to do while Hubby is traveling this week. Shop for a dishwasher, stain the baby gate (did that last night – tonight is the poly), maybe finish the dining room ceiling.
I also need to paint the pantry door and trim at some point, and install new hinges.
We have weird grass in our backyard (according to a neighbor, it’s some kind of special grass planted by a previous owner). We want to remove the edging along the side border “gardens” (actually they’re just huge strips of bark mulch full of weeds and I don’t want a proper garden THAT big) and let the grass fill in to the fence. Is there a good way to encourage grass to fill in? (can’t buy seed as we don’t know what kind of grass it is and “weird grass” isn’t very descriptive, ya know?)
Stay tuned Peeps. (Mmmm Peeps. Nothing like some sugary marshmallow goodness…)
Back on topic! It’s going to be a busy week, and painting the kitchen took up all last weekend, so all my projects might come flying at you at once …but not for a few days.
You do have things to look forward to! Like:
- The blippity baby gate. I’m getting tired of talking about this. It needs to get done. You’ll like it when it’s done though, I think. (?)
- The dining ceiling. Same deal. Hopefully you’ll REALLY like this one when it’s done. Or it’ll be a huge failure. Not sure yet, but might as well go out with a bang!
- The peninsula. Also not a big deal, just need to do it (this weekend).
Happy Tuesday!
Sounds like another list to me. So much to do, so little time. Isn't that the case. Thanks for the idea on my problem wall. I'll run it by the hubby. I like the shelf idea. Good luck on your projects. Can't wait to see.Brooke
